Technique

This short Series was mainly created by utilizing the Cinema 4D plug-in x-Particles. The Corals were created with different growth and spawn systems, while the oil spilling into the water is based on a liquid animation using the particle system. With this set up the 3D Model is potencially fully animateable, with coral growth and death.

Exposé

This semi-realistic series deals with the issue of dying coral reefs, which is becoming more and more important.
Marine debris, oil pollution and global warming are dying off more and more coral reefs, leaving behind cemeteries of bleached-white coral.
These mass extinctions are collapsing entire ecosystems, as not only are the corals affected, but also the fish that live in and off them, and the animals and people that live off the fish.

Implementation

This short still-frame collection has the potential of being implemenet into a call-for-action campain. This simple short series can bring attention to a world wide problem, for example by developing it into a few second video to destribute as advertising, and using the still-renders for Posters.
