Dynamic
Lower Thirds
— A Copy-Paste-to-Update System
Project Type:
Dynamic After Effects Set Up
Produced by:
Anne Driever

Description
A reusable lower-third and dynamic-text system built for event and trade-show video content. Instead of animating each name insert individually, the entire system — comp, backdrop, and typography — updates automatically the moment a single value is changed, turning a repetitive animation task into a one-time build.
Demo
Screen recording showing the system in action: changing a name in the master comp instantly updates every linked sub-comp and backdrop — no manual re-animation, no re-keying, no touching individual layers. What would normally be repetitive manual work becomes a single edit that propagates through the entire structure.

Build Process
Where this system pays off is scale: with dozens or hundreds of name inserts — as is typical for larger events — a single update replaces what would otherwise be hours of repetitive manual animation. The same structure also works well as a reusable CI element for a company that needs fast, consistent content creation without a motion designer rebuilding the animation each time.

Outcome
Where this system pays off is scale: with dozens or hundreds of name inserts — as is typical for larger events — a single update replaces what would otherwise be hours of repetitive manual animation. Creating a new version is as fast as copy-pasting a name into the master comp; everything downstream updates on its own. The same structure also works well as a reusable CI element for a company that needs fast, consistent content creation without a motion designer rebuilding the animation each time.
